Searching the contents of a document to see what’s changed isn’t an easy task at the best of times. But it becomes nearly impossible when it involves two Excel spreadsheets full of calculations and formulas. Fortunately, compareDocs supports native Excel comparisons, so you can quickly and accurately compare spreadsheets for changes.
What is native Excel comparison?
Some document comparison applications convert Excel files to PDF as part of the comparison process. compareDocs is different. It compares Excel files natively, meaning no conversion is required. This means you can expect a faster and more accurate comparison report.
How to compare two Excel files
1. Load the Original and Modified Excel spreadsheets into compareDocs.
2. Select the Excel Document Output option.
3. Click the [Compare] button.
How can I view the changes?
Whereas some applications output an Excel comparison report to PDF, compareDocs outputs the differences to an Excel viewer. This makes seeing and understanding the changes easier.
The compared spreadsheets will display on a split-screen. If you navigate to a change in one spreadsheet, the other spreadsheet moves to the same location. You can also choose what types of changes you want to see from 14 different options, like formulas and macros.
Tip: You can export the results to a spreadsheet or copy to the clipboard to paste into another document.
